This charming cafe specializes in authentic Portuguese flavors, presenting diners with a thoughtfully crafted menu that celebrates the rich gastronomy of the Alentejo region.
As you settle into the relaxed outdoor terrace, the scene feels perfectly in tune with Évora’s gentle climate and timeless atmosphere. The setting invites moments of calm and conversation, whether you’re enjoying a midday meal or a casual snack. The staff’s kindness and attentiveness—highlighted by customers who noted their willingness to accommodate even late arrivals—truly set this cafe apart as a welcoming haven.
The menu is a delightful showcase of regional favorites with a few elegant twists. Indulge your palate in the Sautéed Spaghetti with Shrimp and Spinach, where tender prawns meet al dente pasta enveloped in vibrant greens—a dish bursting with freshness and umami. For a soulful and hearty option, Açorda da Marisca brings the lush flavors of the sea in a comforting bread-based seafood stew, rich and satisfying. Fans of classics will appreciate the expertly prepared Bacalhau à Brás and Arroz de Marisco, each bursting with fragrant spices and fresh, local ingredients. The Bacalhau Gratinado Com Espinafres is another highlight—its creamy, golden crust perfectly contrasts with tender spinach for a decadent bite.
Complement these dishes with a glass of robust Vino Tinto Português, whose velvety tannins and berry notes enhance every mouthful. For those seeking lighter fare, the vegetarian options—such as fresh salads and delicate omelets—offer just as much care and flavor, proving the cafe’s attentiveness to all palates.
What truly lingers in memory, beyond the food, is the generous portion size coupled with impeccable presentation that invites savoring each bite slowly. Whether dining inside or basking in the sunshine outside, this spot leaves a lasting impression of culinary joy wrapped in simplicity and heartfelt service.
In essence, the Cafe of the Museu de Arte Sacra da Sé is more than just a place to eat—it’s a sensory journey into Portuguese heritage, served with genuine hospitality that makes every visit feel personal and memorable.
